The #NightTube- @JubileeLine Launch on October 7th

Recent weeks have seen the launch of the first night tubes in London, on the Victoria and Central lines.

In the run up to the launch I raised my concerns over the impact of the night tube on residents across the West End, and was pleased to hear that there were only four reported incidents on the opening weekend of the service.

On October 7 the Jubilee line will become the third part of the Night Tube service.

The Night Tube is a great addition to London's international appeal, and to its economy, but as a councillor my first concern has to be for the area and residents that I represent on Westminster City Council.

If you have any concerns or issues with the Night Tube, such as disturbance from noise, please contact the Customer Service Centre on 0343 222 1234. Alternatively you could visit www.tfl.gov.uk/contact or write to: TfL Customer Services, 4th Floor, 14 Pier Walk, London, SE10 0ES

New @CityWestminster Team To Deal With Issues With Basement Developments

Residents from across the West End, and Westminster as a whole, have been in touch with myself and other councillors, highlighting issues and concern over local basement developments.

In response I am pleased that Westminster City Council launched a new initiative on September 1st to help deal with these issues.

As part of the new initiative there is a new team dedicated to dealing with issues caused by basement developments.

Importantly, this new service will be funded by a levy on those building the new basements, which will work in conjunction with the council’s new ‘Code of Construction Practice’, which sets out the best practices for building sites including basements.

I will keep residents updated on any developments with this new team.

Cycle to Work Day- 14th September

This Wednesday, 14th September, will be National Cycle to Work Day.

Westminster Council has been encouraging more commuters to travel by bike, and as part of this a number of cycle stations across Westminster have been installed.

These stations ensure that residents are able to get advice about their bicycles and about their maintenance.

For more information about cycling and any events run with Westminster Council, please visit www.westminster.gov.uk/cycling-events
